Karina Chalita is an experienced communications consultant, public relations and press advisor in Colombia. Most recently, she was recently the custom director at Custom Information Services, Inc., a specialized investigations firm focused on the Americas, with offices in Miami, Bogota, and Los Angeles.
Ms. Chalita used her experience assisting several companies including NATURGAS, the industry association that brings together producers and distributors of natural gas, Promigas, Kroll, Colombia´s National Registry Office, Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra, Los Andes University, Rosario University, Pavimentos Colombia, Bogotá Country Club, Buenaventura Container Terminal, Bogotá Overseer´s Office (Personería de Bogotá), Colombian Congress, Corporación Matamoros, Colombia´s Auditor General´s Office, National Savings Fund, Transportation Ministry, Alianza T, Colombia´s Official Bicentenial Independence Celebration, amongst others.
Prior to arriving at Custom Information Services, Ms. Chalita held several positions in the public sector. For four years she served as Press Secretary to Columbia’s Vice President Gustavo Bell Lemus. She was the television coordinator during Andres Pastrana Arango’s 1998 presidential campaign. Ms. Chalita worked as press officer for Colombia´s National Registry, where she coordinated, organized and conducted media management for Governor, Mayor, Council and Assembly elections in 2007.
Ms. Chalita has also worked as a TV reporter where she covered political issues, public policy and national security. She also acted as Press Attache for the Governor of Bolivar in Cartagena and journalist for El Tiempo in Bogotá.
