Christopher P. Grniet’s professional background includes more than 26 years of experience providing security program development for major business and academic institutions; cultural and entertainment facilities; and the research and healthcare sectors; as well as government and quasi-government organizations globally. As Regional Vice President for Guidepost Solutions Security and Technology Consulting practice, he serves as a consultant and business development professional utilizing his years of experience, knowledge and unique perspective on the industry to assist clients in the protection of their personnel, assets and clients through the betterment of their safety and security programs.
Mr. Grniet has provided strategic crime and terrorism threat mitigation planning; threat, risk and vulnerability assessments; policy and procedure development; compliance audits; systems design, engineering and specification; contract bid and award oversight; and program implementation management.
Mr. Grniet started his security career with Fidelity Investments while serving as a Port Security Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. He became a Massachusetts Registered Architect while at Fidelity and eventually moved on to State Street (Bank) Corporation where he continued to expand his knowledge of corporate security functions and develop an understanding of banking and related regulatory compliance matters. While at both institutions, he had a lead role in the development and formalization of standards of global security technologies implementation and integration processes, while working closely with various internal and external stakeholders on a diverse mix of project types and operations including but not limited to: commercial offices and campuses, data centers, residences, hotels, retail operations, museums, light industrial and parking facilities.
Mr. Grniet joined Kroll Security Group as a consultant in 1998 eventually becoming a regional director and practice principal, and attaining his Certified Protection Professional (CPP)® designation. Through his years with that organization he utilized his comprehensive understanding of security principles, architecture and government standards to consult on some of the most high profile facilities and organizations in the public and private sectors, both domestically and internationally. A brief list of this experience includes the United Nations, International Monetary Fund, Metropolitan Transit Authority, New Jersey State Police headquarters, MSP, New York City Office of Emergency Management, Federal Reserve Bank, CUNY, UMMS, Sears Tower, New York Times Tower and Bloomberg headquarters, as well as various matters in Kuwait, Iraq, Korea and the PRC.
