Julie Myers Wood Named CEO of Guidepost Solutions

Former senior official with Departments of Homeland Security, Commerce, Justice and Treasury to lead rapidly growing global investigation, compliance and monitoring company.

New York, NY – May 7, 2014 Guidepost Solutions, LLC (www.guidepostsolutions.com) today named Julie Myers Wood as the firm’s next Chief Executive Officer.  Wood, who previously served as President of its Compliance, Federal Practice and Software Solutions division, will focus on growing the company’s core business lines and expanding technological tools to support security and compliance services.

“Over the last few years clients have experienced a stunning increase in regulation at all levels of government, while at the same time, technology has sped up the accumulation and analysis of information and its dissemination, exposing companies to additional challenges and risks,” said Bart M. Schwartz, Chairman of Guidepost Solutions.  “Julie is exceptionally well-versed in these areas, and will be able to project us forward to support clients as these issues further evolve.  Her experience and dynamic approach to our business gives us the leader we need.”

Guidepost Solutions’ chief executive officer position had been held on an interim basis by Schwartz who will continue as Chairman and remain actively involved in the operations of the firm.

“It is an honor to be asked to lead this company and its remarkably talented team,” said Julie Myers Wood.  “Guidepost Solutions has consistently found ways to bring the best-in-class services to our clients through uniquely experienced professionals and cutting-edge technologies.  I’m committed to building on our core business by identifying and meeting the new challenges of data-driven investigations, expanding our offering of managed security services and global command centers, and continuing to develop new technologies to support client needs.”

“Governments both here at home and internationally are placing more and more regulatory requirements on multinational businesses, increasing the need for holistic approaches to mitigate potential risks,” Wood added.  “Linking together strategies to address Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, anti-money laundering, export controls and privacy issues, among others, can substantially protect well-intentioned corporations.”

Guidepost Solutions is an industry leader in complex investigations, corporate integrity and construction monitoring, global command and control centers, managed security services and regulatory compliance.  With a team of world-renowned experts and state-of-the-art technology, Guidepost Solutions is one of the top security and compliance firms nationally and internationally.

Wood is the former Head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) where she led the largest investigative component of DHS and the second largest investigative agency in the federal government. Under her leadership, the agency set new enforcement records for export enforcement – including International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations and deemed export investigations – and intellectual property rights.  Previously, Wood served as Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement at the Department of Commerce, where she ran the agency responsible for dual-use export enforcement, and Chief of Staff for the Criminal Division at the Department of Justice. As Deputy Assistant Secretary (Money Laundering and Financial Crimes) at the Treasury Department, she coordinated the government’s national strategy on money laundering.  Wood also served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, focused on prosecution of financial crimes, securities fraud, and other white-collar criminal cases.

Prior to joining Guidepost Solutions, Wood was president and founder of ICS Consulting, LLC, a compliance consulting firm, and of Immigration and Customs Solutions, a software compliance firm.  Under her leadership, both firms saw extensive growth, ultimately leading to their purchase by Guidepost Solutions.
