Industry Recognized Investigations Consultant David Cook Joins Guidepost Solutions

San Francisco, CA, December 6, 2013 – Guidepost Solutions, LLC recently announced that investigations expert, David C. Cook, has joined its San Francisco office as a senior managing director.  Cook will focus on building the company’s investigations, litigation support and due diligence practices and will work closely with global entities including law firms, financial institutions, corporations, and private equity and venture capital firms.

“We are pleased to welcome David to Guidepost Solutions where his wealth of knowledge and industry experience will deepen client relationships and add real value to our firm,” stated Guidepost’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Bart M. Schwartz.

Cook’s 30 years of experience includes investigations and litigation support related to fraud, theft of trade secrets, acquisitions, proxy battles, investments, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, whistle blower allegations and embezzlement. Most recently, he served as director of the Fraud and Forensics Recovery practice at Ryan, a global tax firm.  Previously, Cook was a director for the San Francisco office of the Deloitte Financial Advisory Service LLP Forensic and Dispute Services practice and led its West Coast Business Intelligence Service practice.

Highlights of Cook’s career include serving as a regional managing director for SafirRosetti; founder and chief executive officer of Noesis and managing director of Kroll Associates. Prior to entering the private sector, Cook was a Special Agent, Legal Advisor and Instructor with the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he worked on white collar crime, organized crime and foreign counter intelligence matters.

Cook is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco, Oregon State Bar, the FBI Agents Association, and Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, Inc. His charitable affiliations include The Guardsmen and the St. Thomas More Society.  An industry recognized expert, Cook frequently speaks on topics related to due diligence, fraud and investigations.

Cook earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and political science at Willamette University and a Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law.
