As buildings become more automated and dependent on technology for proper functionality, it is imperative that communications cabling infrastructure is designed to support the needs of a building when it is initially constructed, while simultaneously considering the buildings possible future needs. This consistent increase in demand for upgrades requires cabling contractors to respond quickly–with little room for error. Without proper planning, however, the push for a quick-fix upgrade could result in a compromise in quality
Guidepost Solutions provides infrastructure cable plant design services to ensure that sufficient communications cabling is provided between telecommunications rooms (TR) on each building floor, and horizontally within the building from the TRs to potential equipment locations, including printers, computer workstations, wireless access points, and other technology devices including security cameras and communicating mechanical systems equipment like HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems. We work with other design disciplines to ensure that the equipment space, power and cooling requirements of all TRs are well coordinated helping to control costs in these volatile, ever-shifting areas of the building.
