Experience

A university with a 95% international student population experienced an enrollment influx. With its growth, the university was struggling to maintain compliance with increased regulations mandated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Any significant issues could result in the revocation of the schools authorization to enroll international students, effectively shutting down the school. Guidepost Solutions conducted an on-site compliance review of the school’s 200 plus international students. The review included a full audit of every student file and a detailed report noting issues and violations. Several violations were discovered involving false and/or missing documents, as well as a number of students engaged in possible unauthorized employment. We developed a training program as well as provided recommendations based on regulations and industry best practices to remediate the violations. In addition, we assisted the university with the creation and implementation of an I-9 compliance program.
