Guidepost Solutions conducted a comprehensive assessment of the California State Compensation Insurance Fund’s (SCIF) threat management and workplace violence prevention and intervention programs. The assessment encompassed conducting interviews of key stakeholders and participants in their current program. Our team reviewed policies, processes and procedures, and relevant documents. We also reviewed a sampling of cases to evaluate the effectiveness of the current program to determine what is working and what needs improvement including hiring and termination procedures. The team also reviewed the program’s organizational structure. The results of our assessment led to the formation of new security standards and checklists for emergency operations planning to mitigate facility and staff vulnerabilities.
In addition, we developed a training plan with training materials and schedules in coordination with the SCIF. Our team provided training on workplace violence prevention throughout California for more than 5,100 SCIF staff members. The training was conducted on three levels: awareness, intermediate and advanced.
