Senior Managing Director

Stephanie Douglas joined Guidepost Solutions as a managing director in the San Francisco office. She focuses on internal investigations, corporate security programs, preparing organizations against insider threats and executive education. Ms. Douglas has extensive experience in the management of domestic and global security operations, including investigations, intelligence, policy development and strategy. She also brings expertise in  organizational direction and change management.

Ms. Douglas has a distiguished career in both private and public sectors. She retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigations in 2013 and was recruited by Pacific Gas & Electric as senior director of corporate security where she oversaw security risk mitigation and issue response.

In her 23 years at the FBI, Ms. Douglas served in a variety of influential roles. She began as a Special Agent, then Supervisory Special Agent running special investigations and counter espionage operations. She served as a FBI Inspector managing high profile and politically sensitive investigations. During her tenure, Ms. Douglas also served as the Deputy Assistant Director, Counterintelligence, overseeing strategy and budget for the FBI’s counterintelligence resources. Additionally, she served as the Special Agent in Charge for the FBI’s San Francisco Division for more than three years.

In Ms. Douglas’ last role with the the FBI, she served as Executive Assistant Director, National Security Branch. There she had strategic oversight of all the Bureau’s work related to domestic and international counter-terrorism, counterintelligence, weapons of mass destruction and intelligence matters. In this position, Ms. Douglas reported to both the FBI Director and the Director of National Intelligence. She represented the FBI in discussions of national security policy along with other U.S. Intelligence Community partners. As part of her leadership responsibilities, she was responsible for both budget and personnel resources for the national security mission of the FBI and served as the Bureau’s Chief Intelligence Officer.

Ms. Douglas continues to maintain excellent relationships in both the government and private sectors. She enjoys working directly with clients to understand their needs and works within the company culture to identify appropriate solutions.
