As a Senior Managing Director in the San Francisco office of Guidepost Solutions, Stephanie Douglas, focuses on compliance, sensitive corporate internal investigations, white-collar crime investigations, workplace investigations and develops holistic corporate security programs. She works to provide executive education and training in a number of areas including crisis management and insider threats. In both her private and public experience, she has worked extensively in regulated environments.
Ms. Douglas is highly respected in both private and public sectors. She retired as a Senior Executive from the Federal Bureau of Investigations in 2013 and was recruited by Pacific Gas & Electric. Serving as its Senior Director of Corporate Security, Ms. Douglas oversaw risk mitigation and issue response. Ms. Douglas put in place effective risk mitigation strategies, oversaw internal investigations and dealt with executive leadership directly on a variety of risk issues across the regulated industry. In this role, she interacted with a variety of public officials and regulators as appropriate and reported to the Board frequently.
In her 23 years of distinguished service at the FBI, Ms. Douglas served in a variety of leadership roles. As Executive Assistant Director of the National Security Branch (“NSB”), Ms. Douglas directed all the FBI’s work in national security matters including the FBI’s global counter-terrorism efforts. She worked both internationally and domestically reporting to the FBI Director and the Director of National Intelligence. She also served as the FBI’s Chief Intelligence Officer and was responsible for the strategic management of both financial and human resources relative to the NSB.
Prior to the above position, Ms. Douglas served as the Special Agent in Charge for the FBI’s San Francisco Division for over three years. In this position, she led all investigative and administrative operations of the division. Ms. Douglas’s other FBI positions include Deputy Assistant Director, Counterintelligence, Inspector, and Supervisory Special Agent where she ran many high profile and sensitive investigations.
Ms. Douglas is sought after for her invaluable insight and judgment and is sensitive to the needs of the business and provides sound practical advice. Ms. Douglas works with corporations today to identify risks, think through sensible and cost-efficient mitigations and engage leadership in making long term and productive corporate changes.
