Robert “Bob” J. McDonough is a 24-year veteran of the United States Secret Service where he ensured the safety and security of five Presidents, First Families, and the White House complex. Since his retirement from the Secret Service, he has provided guidance in the private sector working as a director of corporate security.

As Vice President of Sports and Entertainment at Guidepost Solutions, Mr. McDonough is responsible for building the Sports and Entertainment practice and maintaining relationships with current clients including the NFL, NBA, San Francisco 49ers, Notre Dame, Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, University of Phoenix Stadium, and the NCAA.

Prior to joining Guidepost Solutions, Mr. McDonough was director of security for the AMB Group, LLC and the Arthur M. Blank Sports Entertainment Group, LLC (AMB) where he oversaw security operations for the Atlanta Falcons in compliance with NFL security best practices and the initial phase of security programs during construction of the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He was also responsible for loss prevention at 21 retail PGA TOUR Superstores and the security and public safety at the Mountain Sky Guest Ranch in Montana, the AMB Family Offices, and the AMB Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia.

Before his tenure at AMB, Mr. McDonough served as the director of security for the Bayer Corporation where he was responsible for the security of its U.S. corporate headquarters, 59 U.S. operational sites, the Aviation Department and 22,000 associates. In addition, he conducted integrity investigations and ensured the protection of intellectual property and physical assets in coordination with Bayer’s Legal Department.

Mr. McDonough began his distinguished career serving in a variety of management and leadership positions in the United States Secret Service, most notably as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Presidential Protective Division which included oversight of the Counter Assault Team Program and the First Family Detail.

Mr. McDonough’s background and combined experience with complex security operations and federal law enforcement offers clients a unique perspective with solutions to ensure organizational emergency preparedness.
