Promotes Walsh to Regional Director
New York, NY – September 29, 2015 – Guidepost Solutions LLC, a global leader in investigations, compliance and security, announced that Cathal Walsh, an experienced professional providing security program development and consulting services, has been promoted to regional director of its Security and Technology Consulting group.
“Since joining Guidepost Solutions, Cathal has successfully overseen and executed multiple, high profile security consulting projects for major sporting events and large real estate developments,” stated Regional Vice President, Christopher Grniet. “He brings a highly strategic approach to each engagement which is essential to mitigating critical security risks impacting our clients’ businesses.”
Walsh has more than 14 years of experience working in corporate security and leading security consulting firms. He has a strong understanding of physical security; information security; crisis and incident management; and how to assist clients with aligning each of these disciplines with their corporate strategy. Walsh works closely with clients to develop long-term global planning strategies that effectively improve operational efficiencies and leverage technical resources to deliver sustainable value. His clients include major businesses, academic institutions, cultural centers, entertainment facilities, research and healthcare sectors, major events, and government and quasi-government organizations. Walsh’s background includes developing comprehensive corporate security programs designed to reduce risk exposure among business activities with a concentrated focus on enterprise-wide acceptable solutions.
Walsh has been with Guidepost Solutions since 2012, previously serving as manager. He has held key security positions with Prudential Financial, Kroll, and the City University of New York (CUNY) Research Foundation. His assignments have included risk, threat and vulnerability assessments; engineering and design services; implementation of comprehensive asset protection systems and programs; third party due diligence; operational security; crime and terrorism mitigation strategies; travel security; financial fraud; and data protection. Earlier in his career, Walsh was an investigator for IDS Research and Development, Inc.
Walsh received a Master of Business Administration degree in International Business from Seton Hall University; Master of Science degree in Protection Management from John Jay College of Criminal Justice; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Thomas Aquinas College. He is a member of ASIS International.
