In The Cloud, There’s Nowhere to Hide

Guidepost Solutions’ cloud-based Big Data Insight platform wins award for impact on business through advances of efficiency in time and costs of investigation and analysis in critical cases.

New York, NY and London – July 18, 2013 — Guidepost Solutions LLC and its proprietary investigative software developed in concert with Anomaly 42, was awarded the EuroCloud UK 2013 Best Business Impact award for its successful use of cloud storage in conjunction with its big data platform, Guidepost Insight. This prestigious Award is sponsored by IBM and was won against stiff competition. Guidepost Solutions will now represent the UK in the 4th annual pan-European Cloud competition later this year.

Guidepost’s cloud-based investigative platform has improved business outcomes for its clients by significantly reducing the time necessary to perform document review and analytical tasks; decreasing the number of investigators and analysts needed to review millions of data points; rapidly identifying key lines of inquiry;  instantly reporting investigation results; and providing real-time capability to test fraud theories.

“With the Insight platform, we are able to turn “big data” into “smart data,” said Joseph Jaffe, Senior Managing Director for Guidepost Solutions responsible for its EMEA practice. “It’s the difference between analyzing a universe of data as it becomes available and spotting problems or anomalies in real-time or auditing and sampling data after the fact.”

“In investigations and monitoring, the use of big data in a cloud allows us to collect, correlate and analyze information in hours, not months, which means we find solutions for our clients faster in a more cost-effective manner, ” continued Jaffe.  “All of the cases in which we’ve used Insight show consistently – and much to our clients’ desires – that we’re able to test and pursue investigative leads faster and test fraud theories more efficiently, providing critical guidance to our clients when they need it most.”

Guidepost Solutions presented three specific case studies to demonstrate concrete business returns provided to its clients by using the Insight platform: an international asset search; complex multi-jurisdictional fact-finding to be used in litigation; and an internal probe of an alleged Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violation.

“As a global company, keeping our analysts in touch with the latest data and lines of inquiry IN REAL TIME, no matter where they are in the world, can only come from a cloud-based system” said Bart M. Schwartz, Chairman of SolutionPoint International, the parent company of Guidepost Solutions. “With near-constant data updates into the cloud, whether it’s tracing assets for a court case or monitoring resources for a large-scale construction project, there’s nowhere in the cloud to hide.  It is gratifying for Guidepost Solutions to be recognized for making this technological leap by a forward-thinking and internationally-oriented organization like EuroCloud. We look forward to representing the UK in October.”
