Guidepost Solutions successfully assisted a client who was denied a U.S. non-immigrant visa due to allegations that the client was contributing funds to a charitable organization listed as a provider of material support to known terrorist organizations. The client retained our firm after spending three years working with various lawyers and lobbyists who were unsuccessful. After a diligent investigation, our team determined that the U.S. Government had been mistakenly attributing the client’s charitable contributions to the wrong charity. After extensive research, supporting documents to the relevant agencies, and interaction with our sources, the State Department agreed with our position that the 212(a)(3)(B) bar was in error. The client was ultimately issued a visa valid for five years.
