Julie Myers Wood

As Chief Executive Officer, Julie Myers Wood focuses on growing the company's core business lines and expanding technological tools to support security and compliance services. She joined Guidepost Solutions in 2012 as president of its Compliance, Federal Practice and Software Solutions division overseeing complex investigations and building business compliance solutions for companies and educational institutions.
Ms. Wood is the former founder and president of ICS Consulting, LLC a firm specializing in compliance, risk assessments, immigration and customs investigations, federal business development and proprietary software products to assist employers with compliance issues. Guidepost acquired ICS Consulting in September 2012.
Prior to founding ICS Consulting, Ms. Wood served as Head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). She led the largest investigative component of DHS and the second largest investigative agency in the federal government with a budget of nearly $6 billion and 15,000 employees. Under her leadership, the agency set new enforcement records for export enforcement including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, the Export Administration Regulations, deemed export investigations and intellectual property rights.
Ms. Wood is nationally recognized as a speaker for her expertise on immigration and other law enforcement issues. She has testified before Congress and has appeared on FOX, CNN, C-SPAN, ABC, CNBC, MSNBC, NPR and numerous other broadcast stations. She serves as Commissioner on the American Bar Association's Commission on Immigration and is a member of the ABA Task Force on Human Trafficking. She is also the Executive Committee Chair for the Border Security Technology Consortium, a group advocating for the use of innovative contracting techniques to meet border security requirements.
Ms. Wood's previous leadership positions in the federal government include Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement at the Department of Commerce, Chief of Staff for the Criminal Division at the Department of Justice and Deputy Assistant Secretary (Money Laundering and Financial Crimes) at the Treasury Department. Ms. Wood also served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, where she prosecuted a variety of financial crimes, securities fraud and other white-collar criminal cases.
Prior to government service, Ms. Wood was an associate at Mayer, Brown & Platt in Chicago, IL and she clerked for the Honorable C. Arlen Beam of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Ms. Wood earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Baylor University and a Juris Doctor cum laude from Cornell Law School.
